The movie, which is titled Skinemax, comes from writer and director Adam Sigal, who previously directed 2016’s When the Starlight Ends, 2022’s Chariot, and 2023’s Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose.
Per Deadline, Jackson has been cast as a woman named Jessie Hudson in Skinemax, while Culkin is playing someone named Morgan Sands.
The cast of Skinemax also includes Crispin Glover (Back to the Future), Oliver Trevena (Plane), Will Peltz (Unfriended), Mark Boone Jr. (Memento), GaTA (Dave), Jared P-Smith (FBI), Vladislav Lapidus (Crescent City), Zac Coats (The Seven Darks), Sierra Nowak (Lucifer), and Maren Altman (If It Bleeds).
“Examining the softcore porn industry of the early 1990s, the film follows Morgan Sands (Culkin), a failing indie film director, and his unlikely friendship with Jessie Hudson (Jackson), a popular adult film star,” Deadline’s description of the plot reads.
Production on Skinemax has now wrapped in Budapest. Trevena produces the film for Ollywood Media alongside Roosevelt Film Lab’s Jon Wroblewski and Christian Sosa and Grapevine Films David Treatman. Dane and Elizabeth Fiori, Lars and Janice Letonoff, Michael Santos, Christian Sheedy, Dalas Lamberson, Maxwell Johnson, and Andre Champagne serve as executive producers.
Culkin, who is the brother of Macaulay Culkin and Kieran Culkin, has starred in movies such as 2002’s Signs, 2011’s Scream 4, 2015’s Intruders, 2017’s Columbus, 2018’s Lords of Chaos, 2021’s The Last Thing Mary Saw, and more.
Jackson, meanwhile, is the daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. Along with being a talented musician, she’s starred in movies such as 2018’s Gringo, 2021’s The Space Between, 2021’s Habit, and 2022’s Sex Appeal.
A release date for Skinemax has not yet been announced.
