ComingSoon is debuting an, previewing the upcoming biographical drama that is entirely generated by AI. The film will be showcased at the upcoming 53rd Kyiv International Film Festival, which is set to take place between October 26 and November 3, 2024. It will then be released in theaters on January 10, 2025.
The English-language drama tells the story of Putin as he came up through his life, starting as a child and going all the way through his current role as president of Russia. The AI-driven movie is headed up by Polish director Patryk Vega, and also marks the director’s first English-language feature.

“This exclusive director’s cut of the two-hour feature film, created using groundbreaking technology, presents an ultra-realistic portrayal of Putin, setting a new standard in cinematic digital innovation,” reads the official synopsis of the film. “Vega’s approach offers audiences an immersive experience that blurs the line between actor and historical figure, deeply exploring the psyche and motivations of the Russian dictator.”
Along with painting a portrayal of Putin, the film also “stands as a symbolic support for the resilience of Ukrainian cinema and the determination of artists to bring vital, challenging stories to the world. Putin also serves as an artistic protest against both the Russian leader and the war in Ukraine,” according to its creators.
The director’s cut of Putin has a runtime of two hours.
