Gaijin Entertainment has just announced some exciting news. The Firebirds update for War Thunder with new aircraft is set to land in early November. It’s a full-on, feature-packed update, loaded with some big names in military aviation.
You’ll be getting the iconic American F-117 stealth attack aircraft, Russia’s Su-34 fighter bomber and the F-15E Strike Eagle, to name just a few. They’re also rolling out new ground vehicles and warships like the British FV107 Scimitar light tank and the French battleship Dunkerque.
Let’s talk about them one by one. The F-117A Nighthawk is the first aircraft in War Thunder to use stealth technology. The F-117 is crafted to dodge radar and infrared detection due to its unique shape and materials.
It has hard edges and sharp angles to deflect radar waves, keeping itself hidden from enemies. It even has radar-absorbing materials and ferromagnetic paint. And its engines are tucked away behind intricate shielding. In real life, this plane was practically a ghost in the skies during Operation Desert Storm, managing over 1,200 combat sorties without a single loss.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is more into raw power. It’s an upgraded version of the classic F-15 fighter, designed to make things go boom. The F-15E has a payload that’s 50% larger than before and is equipped with a ground target detection radar to sniff out enemies below.
You’ll have access to everything from AGM-65 Maverick missiles to laser-guided bombs and even JDAM navigation-guided bombs. You’ll also get to use the GBU-39 satellite-guided bombs, which you can drop 20 of in one go. It’s one of the U.S. Air Force’s main strike aircraft for a reason.
Apart from new aircraft, there’s more to explore in the Firebirds update of War Thunder. The ground and naval reinforcements include tanks like the nimble British FV107 Scimitar and the French Dunkerque battleship.
Meanwhile, the new season Aces High is in full swing. There are unique vehicles to unlock, and all kinds of trophies and
