Pokémon TCG Fan Lucks Into One Of The Rarest Misprints Fans Have Ever Seen

One fan opened their pack of cards and found a series of rare misprints that made their collection even more special. Misprints in cards are rarer than the rarest of Pokémon, making them a collectible item all on their own. For this fan, the misprints on the back of their cards were shockingly bad, which ended up being a good thing.

Redditor Ok-Broccoli4136 posted photos of their Togekiss, Gastrodon, and Tapu Koko cards that looked normal at first glance. However, when looking at the back of the cards, the classic logo and Pokéball were off-center and split down the middle. The Misprints subreddit was shocked at how off the images on the back of the cards were and recommended these Pokémon cards should immediately be protected.

The majority of comments on the thread were to tell Ok-Broccoli4136 to get all these cards into sleeves and top loaders to preserve their value. To many, the cards looked like a mistake that should've been caught as soon as they were printed, and it's that level of mistake that makes them so valuable. The market for rare cards has taken off recently as unique cards, like Japanese cards, are fetching higher prices online.

The Pokemon TCG ex Starter Deck Generations set has many new cards to choose from, but only certain ones are absolutely necessary additions to decks.

Redditor Extras theorized that the front of these cards wasn't aligned correctly before they went into the printer. By the time the cards were put into the cutting machine, it would've been too late, so the misprinted cards made their way into the world. Extras claimed they had misprinted cards similar to this where the front is misaligned like someone messed up the placement of the images, but they had never seen a misprint quite like this. Ok-Broccoli4136 will have to be careful though, as scalpers could try to get these cards at a less-than-ideal price.
