Plenty of games were announced during The Game Awards 2024, ranging from cozy simulators to RPGS, but one of the night's most interesting spotlights was the previously revealed A free-to-play title for both subscribers and non-subscribers, is a 32-player battle royale featuring plenty of the games seen in the Netflix show that it's based on. The game ups the overall mayhem, but it remains loyal to the core concepts of some of the games included.
In addition to games from the show, also features some new challenges that just fit perfectly in a battle royale. It takes a similar approach to fellow battle royale with a fair share of similar obstacle courses, theming them around the school game concept of the show. Not all of these challenges are created equally, however, and some stand out above others by managing to replicate the show especially well or providing a more distinctly memorable experience.
Snow Day is a survival platformer where contestants are supposed to survive the breaking tiles of ice. Without knowing which tile is going to break next,players have to run and jump onto stable tiles so that they don't fall and lose the game. Along the way, however, players have to dodge attacks made by other contestants, which include baseball bats and dodgeballs. This game does not appear in the show whatsoever, making it somewhat less exciting than options that replicate memorable show appearances.
Battle royale games, while not as popular as they were in the early 2000s, still have some solid entries to enjoy, some of which are free-to-play.
The whole idea of Snow Day is to be the last player standing. This may prove to be difficult, depending on how many other players are left in the game and what items they happen to pick up. It's very easy to get knocked around, so staying on your toes is the answer. As a battle royale game, this one is pretty fun, but apart from being based on pure luck and running around the ice to avoid falling in, it's not the best
