Pocketpair’s Pokemon-esque survival sensation Palworld launched for PS5 last month, but the developer confirmed at the time that its release on the console had been put on hold in Japan. At the time, there was no word on how long it would be before that would change, though whatever the hold-up was, Pocketpair seems to have dealth with it.
The developer has announced that Palworld is now available on PS5 in Japan as well. Apologizing for the delay in the announcement port for the game’s PlayStation release in the region, Pocketpair added that it will also be looking to release “exciting and large-scale updates” to make the game “even more enjoyable for everyone”.
Pocketpair is currently being sued by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company for patent infringements. Pocketpair has said it intends to combat the lawsuit and “ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursuing their creative ideas”. Read more on that through here.
Palworld is available in early access on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. A mobile version is also in development in collaboration with Tencent’s PUBG Studios.
