After observing an unusually high success rate on even the most challenging settings, the developer attempted to rebalance the scales with an update that significantly increased the spawn rate of enemies in Operations, resulting in more frustration than anything else. Fortunately, players looking to once again enjoy feeling like a burly Space Marine can now do so without constantly being in danger.
Posting to Steam, Saber Interactive explained that it missed the mark with the balance update, noting that the 4.1 Patch, which goes live on October 24, reduces the spawn rate of Extremis enemies on Minimal, Average, and Substantial difficulties. Moreover, those who choose to play on Ruthless will also encounter far fewer Extremis enemies. The tweak is designed to ensure that the power fantasy is still possible on lower difficulties, removing some of the intensity and stress that many players didn't want to experience.
Beyond reducing the amount of Terminids swarming the player, Saber has also broadly improved all Bolter weaponssince they've all been underperforming. The list of buffed guns includes:
Those are some substantial improvements, made all the better by player armor being increased by 10% on Ruthless difficulty to ensure users can better withstand the Xenos hordes. The Tight Formation perk has also been removed after players complained that it was too restrictive and limited classes like Assault and Vanguard by forcing them to stick too close to their teammates.
Those who prefer to play single-player are also in luck as Saber Interactive has noted that friendly AI is certainly lacking. Many fans have complained that bot teammates can feel ineffective, especially when going up against tougher enemies or boss fights. Patch 4.1 now allows bots to deal a whopping 30% more damage
