Patti LuPone and Zachary Quinto have been cast in a new murder mystery series titled .
LuPone recently played Lilia Calderu in Marvel Studios’ Agatha All Along series, while Quinto is best known for playing Spock in 2009’s Star Trek and its two sequels. Now, the two of them will be seen in a new murder mystery series titled The Artist, which comes from The Network.
Additionally, Hank Azaria (Brockmire) and Clark Gregg (The Avengers) have been cast in The Artist. They’ll join the previously announced cast that includes Mandy Patinkin (The Princess Bride), Janet McTeer (Ozark), and Danny Huston (Wonder Woman).
Deadline’s description of the series reads, “Created, executive produced, written and directed by filmmaker and The Network founder Aram Rappaport, The Artist, set in the twilight of the Gilded Age, follows an ensemble of the era’s celebrities including Thomas Edison (Azaria), Edgar Degas (Huston) and Evelyn Nesbit who meet at the home of Norman Henry, an eccentric and failing tycoon, played by Patinkin, and his wife Marian (McTeer) which ends in his untimely demise.”
Quinto will be playing a lawyer from San Francisco named Delphin Delmas, while LuPone plays McTeer’s character’s sister, Rosie Morsch. Gregg, meanwhile, has been tapped to play Harry Kendall Thaw.
Rappaport will also serve as a producer on The Artist alongside Hilary Shor.
In addition to the Star Trek movies, Quinto is known for starring in American Horror Story and for playing Oliver Wolf in Brilliant Minds. His filmography further includes 2011’s Margin Call, 2015’s Hitman: Agent 47, 2018’s Hotel Artemis, 2020’s The Boys in the Band, and more.
While she’s best known for her work in musical theater and on Broadway, LuPone has also starred in American Horror Story and was recently in movies such as 2019’s Last Christmas, 2022’s The School for Good and Evil, and 2023’s Beau Is Afraid.
A premiere date for The Artist has not yet been announced.
