Stellar Traveler is a game set in a galaxy where steampunk meets space opera. This new game is by nebulajoy, the creators of Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat. It’s now out on Android and you can grab it for free.
You play as the captain of a team stationed on Panola, a human colonisation planet filled with giant mechanical monsters and secrets. Your job is to assemble a squad and take on the alien threats while diving into a sci-fi novel-like story.
Stellar Traveler has some enjoyable little things like fishing in space. But more on that later. The game kicks things off by throwing you into a mosaic-style galaxy with a retro art vibe. Unsurprisingly, its art will right away remind you of games like Tree of Savior and Ragnarok.
Combat is turn-based with automatic battles and offline income, which means you can make progress even when you’re not actively playing. The combat is a bit on the mediocre and linear side. However, its lineup of over 40 heroes with 3D skills is pretty cool.
Each character starts with just one skill, which feels pretty underwhelming at first. To get to the five-skill combo of a six-star hero, you’ll need to grind a bit. That’s 30 levels per skill unlock and it obviously depends on your player level.
The stellar thing about Stellar Traveler is its customisation. You can tweak your captain’s hairstyle, colours and their outfits. On that note, catch a glimpse of the game here!
This is one of the quirkiest parts of Stellar Traveler. You can catch alien fish species and then raise them in an aquarium. They are decorative and help boost your squad’s strength. Stellar Traveler also gives you a bunch of puzzles and mini-games to tackle.
So, check out the game on the Google Play Store. And before heading out, read our next scoop on Kemco’s Latest Sci-Fi Visual Novel Archetype Arcadia on Android.
