Marvel's Spider-Man 2 developer, Insomniac Games is open to making a Venom spin-off. That's at least according to a senior dev, who strongly hints that the idea is being floated around with it all depends on the feedback the team gets from fans.
While stressing that Insomniac's time is currently dedicated to ongoing development for Spider-Man 2, the developer suggests that the studio would make a Venom game, should the feedback towards his latest depiction be positive amongst fans. This would be the second spin-off in the series, with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales previously filling the gap between the two mainline entries.

This comes from senior narrative director Jon Paquette while speaking with Insider. Here, Paquette reveals that Insomniac is monitoring the fan response to Spider-Man 2, and will adjust its plans for the future accordingly.
When asked specifically about Venom getting an entire game of his own, this is what Paquette had to say: "So, here's what we're doing. We're focused on Spider-Man 2, and what we're gonna do is we're gonna wait to see how the fans react."
He continues, "We're gonna listen to the fans and we're gonna ask ourselves, 'Okay, what do the fans really want? We'll kind of talk about stuff after we've all had time to sleep and take vacations,"
While we shouldn't expect Insomniac to have anything cooking just yet - Spider-Man 2 only launched today, of course - this is a pretty strong indication that it wants to create another smaller game, just like Miles Morales, about Venom.
