Spider-Man 2 is hiding the fate of Rhino beneath the city, out-of-bounds and out of sight. At least, his original fate. We're not meant to find this treasure trove that clkz uncovered, so for the time being, it can only be considered cut content. In other words, Kraven's unfinished lair lurking beneath New York City isn't canon to the story, but it does beg the question of what happened to Rhino.

Before the game even begins, Kraven kills Shocker. Off-screen, he also kills Vulture, and on-screen, he kills Scorpion. But Rhino is suspiciously absent. The big lumbering Russian made an appearance in both Spider-Man and Miles Morales, so combined with his clear animal theme, many expected him to pop up as a key Kraven target.

That never happened, and his fate is still unknown. But under the map lies Rhino's head mounted on a wall behind Kraven's throne. At some point in development, Insomniac clearly intended to kill Alexei Sytsevich, but for whatever reason, mention of his death was removed. Whether our favourite horn-headed baddy is still around is unclear. Maybe DLC will reveal his fate, but I have a feeling we're going to be busy dealing with the fallout of Venom's symbiote plague.
According to clkz, they found this out-of-bounds bug by trying out old Miles Morales glitches. Getting under the map via the Financial District still works, so after that, all they had to do was explore the underground and hope something interesting popped up. Cue Kraven's abandoned lair beneath Greenwich.
