Though only recently released, is already being lauded as one of the best exclusives to be released on PS5. This triumph of gameplay and storytelling brings together Peter Parker and Miles Morales as the pair defend New York City and take on a seemingly never-ending barrage of the most powerful villains from across the expansive roster of antagonists that feature in the franchise. While the game is exceptional in many respects, one area that is very familiar with the game's predecessors, and, is the inclusion of random street crimes that Spider-Man can choose to stop.
Taking place in a lightly fictionalized version of New York City, the streets above which Peter and Miles swing are infested with a stunning range of crimes and criminals. Although there are more pressing threats to the safety and prosperity of the city's inhabitants, the random street crime that occurs in is seemingly endemic. Though they manifest in an almost identical way to the previous game, preventing random street crime can be an entertaining way to keep busy between missions; however, not all of these public acts of violence are entertaining to solve – some are mind-numbingly boring.

Though the "" random crimes can be enjoyable the first few times, after a while they become incredibly repetitive, time-consuming, and simply boring. Swinging through the streets in pursuit of a stolen vehicle can be thrilling and incredibly immersive; however, more often than not this random crime is best left unresolved and completely skipped.
