Crunchyroll and the official Solo Leveling Instagram account announced that the anime will be getting a second season, after the final episode aired on Saturday. The second season, titled, Solo Leveling – Arise From the Shadow –, is confirmed to stream on Crunchyroll when it airs.

The final episode of the first season of Solo Leveling revealed the outcome of the Job-Change Quest that Sung Jinwoo startedin the 11th episode of the series, as well as the commencement of Choi Jong In's Jeju Island Reconaissance mission. The last episode had a post-credits scene in which Choi's party manages to get their hands on a dead giant ant from the island, with looks of horror and apprehension on their faces as it pans to a significant development: the ants are evolving, and this one, in particular, has wings. Beyond the upcoming Jeju Island arc, the 12th episode of the Solo Leveling anime saw the development of Sung Jinwoo into the Shadow Monarch, a title bestowed upon him by the System after he overcame the final challenge presented to him by the Job-Change Quest. This title is specifically an evolution of the Necromancer secret occupation that he receives after accepting the reward for his victory. With this, Jinwoo is able to turn the dead into Shadow Soldiers under his command, a turning point for the character and the series.
