The internal testing branch for Diablo 4's expansion Vessel of Hatred seems to have moved out of the Alpha stage, indicating it is now in Beta.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Overview
Vessel of Hatred's testing branch on Blizzard's CDN (content distribution network), used for internal testing, has been recently updated from 2.0.0alpha.49443 to 2.0.103.52888, which indicates that the expansion has moved out of Alpha into Beta. We do not have any further information and will need to wait to learn more about future developments.
Blizzard has not shared any details on when the expansion will move out of internal testing into the hands of the Diablo community.
Back in October 2023, we reported that one of Diablo 4's internal testing branches had been updated to version 2.0, indicating the first deployment of a Diablo 4 expansion in the form of a Technical Alpha build.
Blizzard teased the big information reveal for the expansion to be happening «probably in about 6 months or so» (early Summer of 2024), according to Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson during an interview with Force Gaming held on November 4, 2023. This could potentially put the expansion reveal somewhere in May — however, it would not be unreasonable for the announcement to be potentially delayed, given the recent postponement of Season 4.
