New Open World RPG is Like Stardew Valley Meets Fable

Indie video game publisher V Publishing has released a new trailer for Mirthwood, an upcoming RPG that draws inspiration from acclaimed titles such as Stardew Valley and Fable. Mirthwood was just announced last year, but the promising indie has already excited audiences and garnered more than 100,000 wishlists on Steam.

The list of great games like Stardew Valley is long and diverse, but Mirthwood separates itself from the pack with its medieval setting, RPG mechanics, and vast sense of exploration. Sure, many titles in the cozy game genre feature one or two of these elements, but few also boast the atmosphere that the Mirthwood trailers already emanate. Many gamers are already hooked, but V Publishing and developer Bad Ridge Games are giving players another in-depth look at some of the mechanics.

As part of Steam's Farming Fest, a week-long sale and spotlight on current and upcoming farming-related games, V Publishing released a new trailer for Mirthwood. Mirthwood doesn't have a firm release date yet, but the title is slated to be released on PC at some point during Q3 2024.
