A particularly dedicated fan of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has recreated the entire map in Age of Empires 2.
Reddit user Grouchy_Bluejay4511 shared their creation with a handful of screenshots showing iconic Skyrim locations like Whiterun, Solitude, and Windhelm built in the classic real-time strategy game.
The world isn't just built to look at though, as Grouchy_Bluejay4511 has also promised it includes more than 50 quests and 100 unique characters, with players able to command any of the cities and push for control of all Skyrim.
Those looking to experience it for themselves will be able to "soon", as Grouchy_Bluejay4511 plans to upload it to Steam's modding store Steam Workshop. They didn't say when exactly it will be available, but plan to first play through it a couple of times to test for bugs first.
Despite launching almost 12 years ago, Skyrim still sits firmly within video game consciousness, especially in the modding community. It is still the latest game in the franchise though, as while developer Bethesda has since released the likes of Fallout 4 and new space epic Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6 won't be arriving until 2028 at the earliest.
Regardless, the blending of Age of Empires 2 and Skyrim perhaps couldn't go wrong. IGN said the latter was "great" in our review from 1999, and there's a reason people are still playing it two decades later. As for Bethesda's Skyrim, IGN said: "Skyrim is a rare kind of intensely personal, deeply rewarding experience, and one of the best role-playing games yet produced."
