A new Red Dead Redemption 2 mod that is now available for download makes the game look outright stunning with improved weather conditions, lighting, shadows, and much more.
The Visual Redemption Project, which can be downloaded from its official website, overhauls the weather system, improves shadow distance in all different weather conditions, reduces the intensity of heat haze, improves water reflections, fixes the Moon positioning, fixes bloom render on lights, and more. As the mod does change the vanilla game's atmosphere and lighting, the developer released an optional Add-On that preserves the original look of the game while introducing some improvements, such as shadows improvements and more. You can check out this impressive visual overhaul in the video below.
The Visual Redemption Project is yet another reason to experience Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, as it is the only version of the game that can run at 60 frames per second and above. As the open-world game by Rockstar hasn't been patched for current generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are locked at 60 FPS, although on Xbox consoles, the game runs at native 4K resolution. An unofficial patch for the PlayStation 5 version of the game was revealed back in August, proving that the lack of an official patch is not due to technical issues.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One worldwide. Learn more about one of the finest open-world games ever released by checking out Alessio's review.
