Despite having been released a while back, Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to be one of the best-looking open-world games ever released, especially on PC with the right mods.
A new 8K resolution video put together by Digital Dreams showcases the second entry in the series by Rockstar Games running with over 100 mods, including the Vestigia mod, an excellent graphical and environmental overhaul, and a ReShade raytracing preset. Needless to say, the game truly looks breathtaking, especially in natural landscapes.
While the game may not be the most recent open-world around, modders are continuing to support Red Dead Redemption 2 with their hard work. Another stunning visual mod, the Visual Redemption Project, was released online last week, introducing improvements such as weather system, shadow distance, water reflections enhancements, and more.
It is a shame that Red Dead Redemption 2 on consoles is not as stunning as it can be on PC, as Rockstar Games doesn't seem interested in releasing a current-generation version of the game to offer at least 60 frames per second gameplay. On the other hand, the recently released port of the first entry in the series was updated yesterday with a 60 FPS gameplay option on PlayStation 5, making it the first official version of the game to run at higher than 30 frames per second.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One worldwide. Learn more about the game by checking out Alessio's review.
