Samsung surprised us all when it started pushing out the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update on the Galaxy S23. A lot of us were expecting the update to hit the stable channel by the end of this year, but users got lucky, and for all the good reasons. Sadly, the update is not going to be coming out to all the popular devices.
It appears that the Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy s20 series will not be getting the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. This comes as disappointing news because initially, the devices were on the list, but Samsung has removed them from the list.
Samsung's initial list for Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update talked about how the update is going to come out on a handful of devices from 2020. This included the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy Note 20, Z Flip, and the Z Fold 2. However, the company has now changed the footnote and removed some devices. The footnote now reads:
Available on Galaxy S23 series, S22 series, S21 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, Z Fold4, Z Flip4, Z Fold3, Z Flip3, A54, A53, A34, A33, M54, M53, M34, M33 devices operating on One UI 6.0 or above.
Samsung later confirmed that the inclusion in the list before was an error, and the Galaxy S20 series, the Galaxy Note 20 series, and the other Galaxy devices that were removed from the list will not be getting the update.
This honestly is sad news for all the Galaxy S20 users, and some would even call Samsung dishonest for not releasing One UI 6.0 on these devices, but in all fairness, the company only announced its updated software update policy with the release of the Galaxy S21 series, and those devices will be getting the update. As far as the older devices are concerned, they are still excellent in every way. They just won't get the latest
