Pixel Art Horror Game Skeler Boy Funded on Kickstarter
hardcoredroid.comUp-and-coming game creator Maniac Boy Studio reached the Kickstarter goal for its pixel-art horror game Skeler Boy. The campaign began at the start of June and managed to raise $7.9k by July, officially funding the game.
Skeler Boy is an open-world horror exploration game inspired by movies from the 70s and 70s like The Exorcist and The Terminator. The upcoming game features hundreds of conversations and puzzles for players to interact with.
Players have the option of playing the game in 2D, 2.5D side-scrolling, or anaglyph 3D. For the 3D graphics, players will need classic 3D glasses to see them properly. Only the PC and Android games are compatible with the 3D anaglyph.
Although fully funded, Skeler Boy has several stretch goals the team wants to reach. Fans of the classic game systems are in for a treat if the team manages to reach their further goals. At 10k, Maniac Boy Studio will release Skeler Boy on the original Game Boy cartridge. The team will add more content to the game at 15k and 20k, while 30k means releasing an NES cartridge version.
The original 6k goal was for the game to release on PC and Android. With the goal reached, pledgers who gave €12 (about $14) receive a digital copy of the game on release. Those who pledged less or nothing can purchase the game from digital retail.
