Embark Studios has revealed its highly-anticipated multiplayer shooter The Finals will be receiving a closed beta test next month with a flashy new trailer. The developer first revealed the upcoming shooter late last year, showing off cinematic environments and flashy visuals for the multiplayer team-based game. Early video from The Finals' pre-alpha trailer featured a variety of impressive elements including fully destructible environments and fast-paced frantic gameplay. Now, Embark is opening up the game to even more players with a closed beta coming soon.
Competitive shooters have become a fierce battleground in recent years with several franchises duking it out to best one another. Battle royales have become a popular subgenre of shooters following the success of games like Fortnite and PUBG Battlegrounds, while others like Apex Legends put unique spins on the genre. Embark Studios officially confirmed the second closed beta test for The Finals will be coming next month alongside the debut of a gorgeous new trailer. The first closed beta test for the team-based shooter will begin on March 7 with hopeful players able to request access to the beta through The Finals' Steam page. No details were given about what features the closed beta test will contain or whether the game will eventually be made available on consoles.
