Xbox-published game Minecraft Dungeons is one of the free PlayStation Plus games for March 2023. While Sony and Microsoft have a contentious relationship, especially in light of Microsoft's attempted acquisition of Activision Blizzard, there are times when the two gaming giants cooperate in limited capacity.
Some Xbox-published games have appeared on PlayStation platforms and vice versa. For example, even though Microsoft owns the rights to the Minecraft IP, it has kept the survival crafting game as a multi-platform release. The multi-platform mindset has extended to Minecraft spin-off games as well, with Minecraft action-RPG Minecraft Dungeons readily available on non-Xbox platforms like the Nintendo Switch and the PS4.
PS Plus Free Games for March 2023 Confirmed, Extra and Premium Get New Day One Release
PS4 gamers that have yet to try Minecraft Dungeons will soon be able to do so as part of the PS Plus free games for March 2023 lineup. Sony used its latest PlayStation State of Play event to pull the curtain back on its PlayStation Plus plans for the near-future, confirming Minecraft Dungeons for the free PS Plus March 2023 games along with divisive first-person shooter Battlefield 2042 as well as Soulslike game Code Vein. PS Plus subscribers will be able to claim all three of these games for their digital libraries across PS4 and PS5 beginning Tuesday, March 7.
