One of the latest Exotic weapons that was added to Destiny 2 turned out to be so broken that Bungie ended up disabling it in all endgame content, including raids and the PvPvE Gambit mode. The problematic piece of equipment arrived as part of the Lightfall DLC at the start of Destiny 2 Season 20.
The Lightfall expansion for Destiny 2 released on February 28, adding a wide variety of new content and a number of quality-of-life changes to the popular game. As is the case with most major updates to complex software such as MMO shooters, the new DLC also introduced quite a bit of bugs that Bungie is currently trying to address, including a weird glitch that can lead to Destiny 2 players getting stuck inside a map after using a certain ability.
Destiny 2 Developer Clarifies Plans for Chat Improvements
One of the most recently uncovered such issues appears to revolve around the Winterbite Exotic Glaive that's given out as a reward for completing the lengthy Welcome to the Hall of Heroes quest line. Namely, it turns out that this particular weapon can deal insane amounts of damage to bosses due to an unspecified glitch that the developers are currently attempting to fix. While it's still unclear what exactly triggers this newly reported bug, numerous player reports from social media claim the Winterbite Exotic Glaive can essentially reach infinite DPS during any Destiny 2 boss fight.
Given how this state of affairs turns the Winterbite into both the best Destiny 2 Glaive and an utterly broken weapon in its own right, Bungie ended up disabling it in all endgame content, including raids, dungeons, and the Gambit mode as of March 4.
