Unfortunately, the same strength is leading to the stagnation of the weapon meta, relegating players to only use one or two viable weapon archetypes.
Although recent seasons and expansions have shifted the DPS meta towards chaining abilities and using Super skills, Destiny 2's multifaceted gameplay is held together by its crisp and innovative gunplay. Destiny 2's impressive arsenal offers players the selection of projectile-based and bladed weapons that use three distinct types of ammunition to fuel the lethal capabilities. The general concept surrounding ammunition types is that Primary ammo weapons deal relatively low base damage, while Special and Heavy ammo weapons can dish out much higher damage values.
