Mortal Kombat was released in 2021, starring Lewis Tan (Cole Young), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Josh Lawson (Kano), Mehcad Brooks (Jackson «Jax» Briggs), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Max Huang (Kung Lao), Tadanobu Asano (Raiden), Chin Han (Shang Tsung) and Joe Taslim (Bi-Han/Sub-Zero). The film was a hit on Max, and due to its success, it scored a sequel.
