Developer Insomniac Games has released a new update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, bringing with it a host of fixes, and new features, including New Game+. The update, numbered at version 1.002.000, also brings with it other features like Mission Replay, and the ability to change the time of day. Check out the full patch notes below.
The headlining feature of the update, New Game+, now allows players to access Ultimate Levels, which is essentially a way for players to get stronger than the base game allowed. There are now also new Symbiote Suit Styles to unlock through Ultimate Level progression, as well as the ability to unlock both perks in a shared Suit Tech slot.
The update was originally announced in February, when the studio had also revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would also be getting two new paid suits that players can purchase. Dubbed the Fit N’ Fresh suits, they are priced at $4.99 and were developed in collaboration with Gameheads. Sony will donate revenue from each suit pack sold up to $1 million in total to “support Gameheads’ mission of empowering low-income youth and youth of color to thrive in the video games industry”, and the suits will eventually be made available for free for all players.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available on PS5 and has been massively successful, having sold 10 million copies worldwide, though developer Insomniac Games was one of several first-party studios to be affected by PlayStation’s recent mass layoffs. For more details on the game, check out our review.
