Konami has rolled out Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Patch 1.4.0 across Steam, adding new screen and audio setting features.
This new patch is currently only available via Steam, and Konami mentions that the update will be released across other platforms in early January 2024. As said, this new patch adds new screen setting features as well as audio setting features to the collection, including 'smoothing', a screen filter, and new game screen settings. In addition, after installing this new patch, players can change the game volume and main menu volume prior to playing. The game volume can be changed while playing the games. In Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, this new patch adds a "windowed mode", which can be turned on or off.
We suggest reading the full patch notes for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Patch 1.4.0 here. In the patch notes, Konami also makes mention of known issues that still need to be addressed. We've included these below:
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 is available now across PC, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S. PC players who are into modding might want to check out this mod that adds custom resolutions, ultrawide support, and more to both Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3.
As covered back in October of this year, references to Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5 in the game files of the Master Collection suggest that Konami will possibly include these games in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2.
