After a brief delay, the latest update for Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield is out now on the Steam Beta branch for PC players. It’s the space-faring RPG’s biggest update to date, with over 100 fixes and improvements.
These include a fix for the player’s eyes remaining closed and not blinking in third person, and small animation pops rarely occurring from the perspective. Creatures that were incorrectly invisible on some planets and an issue that caused enemies to stand when they should fall have also been fixed.
Widescreen support has been improved further with 32:9, 21:9 and 16:10 monitors supported. Visual improvements are also available for skin and eyes on NPCs in crowds, water, contact shadows on characters and character cloth, and more. Stars that display sun disk geometry are supported, and you can also see shadows on planetary rings from the surface. About 73 locations have also had their lighting improved.
Check out the full patch notes below. The update was planned to go live for all players two weeks later, but plans may have changed. Stay tuned for updates.
