Dead Island 2 received a new update that implemented bug fixes for the base game and the Haus DLC. The update will hopefully improve on Dead Island 2's already strong gameplay.
Dead Island 2 proved to be a hit among many fans thanks to its vibrant zombie-slaying atmosphere, dismemberment system, and satirical writing. It even outperformed its predecessor on Metacritic, finishing with a 73 Metascore over Dead Island's 71. While many fans have enjoyed the game since its April 2023 release, Dead Island 2 has its fair share of bugs, which Dambuster Studios attempted to address with its newest update.
Dead Island 2 received an update that focuses on technical issues and various bugs within the base game, and also implemented bug fixes to the game's Haus DLC. The base game's improvements include support for the Epic Game Launcher Cloud Save, enemies no longer teleporting from one side of an object to the other, side quests having proper accessibility, the Gore Horse achievement not unlocking, and more. The Haus DLC's improvements include carry-able heads no longer getting stuck on various objects, players no longer getting trapped in certain areas, and more. Dead Island 2's newest update is available to download on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
Although this is a welcome update that proves Dambuster Studios is intent on improving Dead Island 2, many users expressed their hopes for the game to finally receive one major feature. Shortly after its release, aDead Island 2 developer acknowledged fans' requests for a New Game Plus mode, but going into 2024, the game is still without this feature. Dambuster Studios has not commented on this matter in recent months.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to Dead Island 2's Sola Festival DLC, which is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2024. Sola Festival will be Dead Island 2's last major content update and is expected to feature plenty of human-on-human combat and interaction.
