After many months of rumours and speculation, Konami has finally announced a full remake of PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is in the works. From Virtuos Studios, it will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The news was shared during Sony's PlayStation Showcase, and you can catch the first look above. A release date was not announced.
This is the first we've seen of the Metal Gear Solid franchise since 2018 spin-off Metal Gear Survive. Before that, it was Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which also marked the exit of series creator Hideo Kojima from Konami. He has since gone on to develop Death Stranding for PS5, PS4, and PC. A sequel is also being produced.
