The Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake was finally confirmed to be real during last week's PlayStation Showcase. The thing is, Konami didn't exactly tell us much else other than it exists. Surprising since rumors of its existence have been circulating for almost two years. The studio has now expanded a little on how and why the remake is happening, including confirmation that it's open to remaking more Metal Gear games in the future.
The key to making sure Konami doesn't begin and end its Metal Gear remake run at Snake Eater is letting the studio know that you want more. Demand for the series' games to be at least playable on the latest consoles suggests Metal Gear fans making their voices heard won't be a problem.

IGN asked Konami for a few more details about the Snake Eater remake (thanks, GamesRadar). “Regarding remakes of previous games in the series other than Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, we will listen to player demand and consider accordingly,” a Konami spokesperson confirmed.
As is pretty typical when it comes to video games, immediately after the Snake Eater remake was confirmed, Metal Gear Solid fans started to try and figure out what else we might get from Konami. In defense of those Metal Gear-starved fans, Konami very much left the door open for that sort of thing. Not only by including a box with a question mark on its Master Collection marketing, but by labeling the collection, which will include HD versions of the first three games, volume one. If that's not hinting that there might be more to come, I don't know what is.
