Given how many horror games we get now and how good many of them turn out to be, standing out from the crowd for a newcomer is easier said than done, though developer Pixelsplit and publisher Daedalic Entertainment’s Reveil certainly seems to be checking all of the boxes on that front.
Unveiled recently at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, Reveil is described by the developers as a “first-person psycho-thriller” that will emphasize story, exploration, and puzzles. Its reveal trailer isn’t a particularly beefy one, but it does show off quite a bit, including plenty of trippy and unsettling environments, as well as a few glimpses at the puzzles, mysteries, and riddles the game will through your way. Check it out below.
Reveil is in development for PC, and there’s no official word yet on whether it will also come to consoles at some point down the line. According to its Steam page, Reveil is due out sometime in 2023.
