Final Fantasy fans unite - a Final Fantasy X Remake is said to be in the works to celebrate the game's 25th anniversary.
At least, that's what insider 'I am a hero too' appears to have said on the ResetEra forums in a thread about the Final Fantasy games. This info comes from the same person who has been sharing information about the rumored Final Fantasy IX Remake and Persona 3 Remake recently. Although most of the insider's posts have since been edited on the ResetEra forums, we've included some of his posts from the thread below.
Yesterday, a user on the forums posted that it's a good time to be a Final Fantasy fan with the upcoming Final Fantasy games, the rumored Final Fantasy IX Remake, and the recently released Pixel Remasters. Afterwards, 'Im a Hero Too' said that "there's more", although he/she didn't directly provide additional details. Today in the same thread, however, the insider asked whether users "like FFX", before asking when the game's 25th anniversary is, which is in 2026.
The insider then said that the next Final Fantasy remake is indeed Final Fantasy X. "That’s the next remake. Not answering any questions about it, others know (including some in this very forum), it’ll hit for its anniversary."
While we haven't been able to verify this insider's credibility just yet, we do know that he has provided proof to the forums' moderators that he/she has access to reserved information not available to the public.
Earlier this week, the insider said that the rumored Final Fantasy IX might be close to release, and will feature updated models. In addition, although not a full-blown remake such as Final Fantasy VII, the game is said to look prettier.
Interesting stuff for sure, and we honestly can't wait for a remaster
