The video game to board game pipeline has become well-established over the past few years, and it seems that Metal Gear Solid is the latest adaptation. Coming on the heels of Konami's announcement of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the "Integral Edition" of the board game will cost $100 plus shipping.
Designed by Emerson Matsuuchi, the Metal Gear Solid board game appears to be based primarily on the PS1 original of that name. It features mission-based co-op gameplay that highly encourages a stealthy approach. It has several weapons and items from the game, such as Meryl's infinite ammo bandana. It also includes several of the game's iconic boss fights, including Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Liquid Snake, and more.

The preorder bonuses include a Metal Gear Rex miniature and a 109-page graphic novel. The game supports one to four players and takes roughly an hour to 90 minutes to play. The Metal Gear Solid board game was originally supposed to launch in 2021, but it was canceled by publisher IDW after a number of delays. The game is now being published by CMON, and it is expected to ship in May 2024.
