Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Announced, Master Collection Coming this Fall - Hardcore Gamer

For quite a while now, rumors had been swirling about the return of one of the stealth genre’s original icons, Snake, in the form of a remake of the third Metal Gear Solid game, Snake Eater.

With the resurgence of faithful, updated remakes over the past few years from series like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy, it might not seem too surprising at first glance for Metal Gear to receive a similar treatment as its first new game in over five years since the maligned Metal Gear Survive. However, the infamous breakup between series creator Hideo Kojima and publisher Konami back in 2015 has left many fans to assume that the series was dead in the water, especially after Konami shifted away from producing console games to primarily focus on mobile and arcade games in 2018.

Now, it seems like the Japanese publisher is ready to dip their toe into the AAA gaming space once again, as yesterday’s PlayStation Showcase featured the first teaser for the aforementioned remake of the beloved 2004 game, although with a slightly different title: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Confirmed to be in production for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, the development team has stated that the remake will be a “faithful recreation of the original story and game design, while evolving the gameplay with stunning visuals and a seamless user experience.” The series’ official Twitter account has also confirmed that the character voices will remain the same as the original game, seemingly indicating the return of David Hayter as Naked Snake. The remake is currently without a release window.
