Though the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is just days away, Square Enix confirmed that an update for the free demo of the highly-anticipated title will go live on Wednesday, February 21, around 7:00 AM Eastern. The new update to the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo will give players an exclusive glimpse at the Junon area and will bring some fixes to the demo's Performance Mode.
Shortly after the PlayStation State of Play broadcast dedicated to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Square Enix confirmed that the game would receive a substantial demo that would cover the infamous Nibelheim flashback from Cloud's point-of-view, which covers the first couple of hours of the game. The company quickly stated that Nibelheim would not be the only thing the demo would give players, as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth reiterated that a second part of the demo would be released as a free update. At the time of writing, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo requires just over 46 GB of storage space, which is just under one-third of the storage space that the full version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will need.
It is not known if or how much additional space will be needed for the demo update. But, players will not have long to experience more content ahead of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's release. The demo update will be released on Wednesday, February 21, at around 7:00 AM Eastern time. The demo will provide not only an exclusive experience of the Junon area for players to see, but the demo's Performance Mode will see improvements to the graphical quality following player feedback on social media. The Performance Mode update to the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo will also carry over into the game's full release on February 29.
