The Sew Delightful Update has launched in and perhaps the most exciting new feature is the addition of Floating Islands. For those who have noticed the strange bits of land floating off in the distance while exploring the valley and wished they could occupy the extra space, you finally can.
Whether you're planning to banish some villagers to a remote location or design a uniquely themed getaway that doesn't clash with your overall valley, Floating Islands are the perfect way to completely rethink your designs. Furthermore, don't worry about space, these islands are massive and can easily hold the homes of several villagers if you'd like them to.
Unfortunately, much like any other update, Floating Islands aren't just automatically available to everyone. While they are technically part of the game now, you will need to complete some tasks before you are presented with the quest associated with them. Primarily, you'll need to have completed the What's Left Behind quest with the Fairy Godmother, which is the quest in which you restore the Orb of Remembrance.
Moonstones are valuable in-game currency in Disney Dreamlight Valley and luckily, there are a few different ways to get them completely for free.
The What's Left Behind quest is a pretty late-game story quest, so if you're new to the game or haven't prioritized story content, then you may have to wait a bit before you have access to the islands. If you have completed it, then Merlin should have a new quest for you once you've updated your game. Speak with him to officially kick off the Islands in The Sky quest and begin unlocking this new and exciting feature.
When talking to Merlin, he'll excitedly inform you that something new and exciting has arrived in the valley.
