In a fun meeting of the minds, Final Fantasy XVI developers have reacted to a surprisingly stripped-down Tekken 8 skin for protagonist Clive, with the RPG star having now joined the roster of the latest entry in the legendary fighting franchise.
In a short clip posted to X by streamer Aitaikimochi, Final Fantasy XVI director Hiroshi Takai and producer Naoki «Yoshi-P» Yoshida were presented live with a look at Clive in a scarlet fundoshi, a type of traditional Japanese undergarment (thanks, GamesRadar+). Yoshi-P queries Takai: «As the director of FF16, you OK'd this?» Takai admits, «Yeah, I might have approved this, » joking, «I might have been out of it at the time.»
Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada teases Yoshi-P and wonders whether the producer is mad about Clive's new look. Yoshida takes it all in stride and clarifies: «If you're going to have him in Tekken, he should have all the features that the usual characters have. Otherwise, it won't be as fun.»

Wish it was tifa in that thong.
Ngl Clive actually brought me back to the game after not having played since like August
@Magatsuhi you and me both buddy, you and me both.
I'm so glad I bought Tekken 8, I'm able to customize Kazuya to look like Kiryu from Yakuza 6 and able to play as Clive in a fighting game. Also the gameplay is pretty fun and still has pretty complex combos despite not having any of the quarter circle moves like GG. Well worth the $35!
