's latest expansion, A Storybook Vale, brought a lot of new features to the game, but perhaps the biggest update is still yet to come with the addition of Floating Islands. Not only is this heavily requested feature part of a free update, meaning all players will gain access to it, but it will be even better than fans could've hoped.

The free Sew Delightful update to is launching on December 4th and will finally give players the chance to expand their home valley. Anyone who's ever looked up at the strange floating islands in the sky and wished they could take advantage of that extra space, is about to have a wish granted by .

Since 's early-release launch, the available space in the valley has never changed. Unfortunately, what has changed is the population of villagers in the valley. With the addition of two to three new characters and their homes per major update, the valley quickly went from large and expansive to small and crowded. For this reason, new real estate in the valley has been one of the most endlessly requested updates.

Although it's not coming exactly in the form of a new biome like players were originally hoping, the Floating Islands are still a huge deal. In total, the Sew Delightful update will bring four new Floating Islands to , each themed after a different biome. Even if the Floating Islands don't sound ideal when it comes to expanding in general, at the very least they can be used to declutter the valley and create some new spaces.
