The PlayStation Portal is perhaps Sony's most unlikely success in recent memory. Since one joined the family, we can certainly attest to spending even more time playing games. A year after launch, the PS Portal received a game-changing cloud streaming update, and Sony says that loyal users should expect more surprises to come in the future.
In an expansive interview with Stephen Totilo's Game File (thanks, PSLS), Sony's VP of product management, Hiromi Wakai, said additional features will be coming, just slowly, to deliver the best possible experience: «PS Portal was a new type of product for us, so we wanted to be extra careful to ensure our users get the best possible user experience. We want to continue that approach with PS Portal, and make incremental steps based on community reception.»
Elsewhere in the interview, Wakai said that PS Portal owners were deeply engaged and inclined to spend more time gaming overall, a feedback loop the company is surely taking note of for future console generations.
