Diablo 4 has been one of the biggest releases of the year in a year that’s been overflowing with massive releases, and from critical reception to commercial performance, the long-awaited action RPG has enjoyed impressive success in the early days after its release. Shortly after launch, in fact, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that Diablo 4 was the company’s fastest-selling game of all time, having raked in over $666 million in revenue within five days of release.
Now, it’s also been revealed by Activision in its latest quarterly fiscal report that the game was played by over 10 million players by the end of June, and sold more copies than any other Blizzard Entertainment game in the past at an equivalent stage of release. During that period, the game was also played for over 700 million hours collectively by its entire player base, while Activision also states that “retention trends for the title are particularly strong.”
Diablo 4 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Its first post-launch season, Season of the Malignant, goes live tomorrow. Read our review of the base game through here.
