As the first season of Diablo 4 goes underway, players have already found some issues. Mainly with Diablo 4‘s Season 1 Battle Pass which has a lot in it, but has a wall that you’ll hit in terms of free stuff. The Battle Pass brings a lot to the game and adds length, but there’s still the issue of how much all your grinding will pay off. Since the Complaints of Season of the Malignant mount, the biggest one is that even if you reach level 100 in the Season 1 of Diablo 4’s Battle Pass, you may not be enough to Platinum for the cheapest item.
Diablo 4’ Season 1 Battle Pass has a lot of rewards to earn, however, most of the sought-after items are in the store. To purchase those items, you can use spend real-life money to buy Platinum, or you can earn the currency by leveling up the Battle Pass. According to Diablo 4’s Reddit post, the Battle Pass yields 666 Platinum. This goes with the theme of Hell aesthetic of the game since that number is often synonymous with the Lord of the Underworld — the Devil.
The issue is that when you reach level 100 in the Season 1’s Battle Pass, you won’t have enough Platinum to earn items that are on the lowest end which is around 800 Platinum. While these rewards rotate, it seems even with those rotations you’ll still need to use real-life money to cover the difference.
Having premium currency is a common practice for live service games such as Fortnite. The difference is that for Epics battle royale if you max out the Battle Pass, you can earn enough in-game currency to buy the next season’s pass. For Diablo 4, if you want to get the next Season’s Battle Pass, you’ll either need to save up all the Platinum from each season without spending it or, use real-life money to get more.
