The Galaxy S24 family launching early next year is not expected to exclusively ship with Qualcomm’s chipsets, with one tipster providing a ‘100% guarantee’ that the Exynos 2400 does exist and it is arriving in major smartphone markets. The news will disappoint several customers living in these regions, especially when the Galaxy S23 series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 received immense praise for the SoC’s performance and power efficiency.
Customers residing in the U.S. will not have to worry about purchasing any Exynos 2400 variants because all Galaxy S24 versions will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in this region. According to Ice Universe, Samsung’s in-house silicon will be found in all members of the Galaxy S24 family that are sold in Europe and some parts of Asia. Aside from that, no other information was provided. Given the history of Exynos chipsets, the majority of consumers will not be thrilled to hear about those variants arriving in their country.
This is because, historically, Snapdragon versions have always been superior in benchmark and real-world results, but Samsung may be bringing Exynos 2400 versions of the Galaxy S24 lineup due to profiteering reasons. An earlier rumor stated that each Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 costs Qualcomm’s phone partners $160 apiece, which can only mean that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could be slightly more expensive than its predecessor, and it will eat into the margins of every Galaxy S24 model that Samsung sells.
