Exoprimal hasn’t enjoyed the sort of universally positive critical reception that other Capcom games this year have, from Resident Evil 4 to Street Fighter 6, but the new multiplayer dino shooter has still managed to attract a sizeable audience, it seems.
Taking to Twitter, Capcom recently announced that Exoprimal has surpassed a million players worldwide across all platforms, less than two weeks out from launch. Of course, this number doesn’t reflect the game’s sales, especially given the fact that it’s also available via Game Pass, but it certainly seems like it’s got off to a solid start, especially for a new IP.
Capcom says it’ll also be giving away a new free skin for the Skywave Exosuit to all players as part of the upcoming Title Update 1 on August 16 to commemorate the milestone. Title Update 1 is also set to include 10 new Alpha Variant Exosuits, and will be preceded by the launch of Savage Gauntlet, a new PvE mode, on July 28.
Exoprimal will also include collaborations with Monster Hunter and Street Fighter as part of upcoming seasons.
In our review of Exoprimal, we gave it a score of 5/10, saying, “With so many incredible releases over the past few years, Exoprimal feels like an odd misfire from Capcom. Its combat and graphics are good, but the live service elements, PvEvP focus, and more detract from the experience.” Read the full review through here.
Exoprimal is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
