Diablo 4's First Battle Pass Doesn't Give You Enough Platinum To Buy Anything

It's safe to say that the launch of Diablo 4's Season of the Malignant has been a bit of a disaster. A pre-season patch that nerfed pretty much every class and completely butchered Sorcerers caused widespread outrage amongst the community, becoming so bad that Blizzard had to address the issues in a developer livestream that took place last week. Fixes have been promised and the anger had been quelled slightly, but Diablo 4 players have already found something else to direct their ire towards - the game's Battle Pass.

Diablo 4 promised before launch that every new season will bring with it a Battle Pass for players to get stuck into, each one filled with rewards such as cosmetics, emotes, mounts, and a sprinkling of premium currency called Platinum. However, if you were hoping to buy something from Diablo 4's in-game store with that smattering of Platinum, you're out of luck, as fans recently discovered that the 666 Platinum you're given for completing the Battle Pass isn't enough for even the cheapest item.

Yep, you read the right. The cheapest item in the Dibalo 4 in-game store costs 800 Platinum, which is 134 more than what the game's Premium Battle Pass gives you. That means that if you want to buy something you'll either have to buy more Platinum on top of the money you spent to actually get the Premium Battle Pass in the first place, or just sit on 666 Platinum until the next Battle Pass comes along in Season 2. Either way, it's not a great situation.
