Diablo 4 fans will want to mark Thursday, January 18 on their calendars, as that's the day that the Developer Update video will be released for the game's upcoming Season 3. Diablo 4 is a live service game that Blizzard hopes to support for years. The most exciting Diablo 4 updates will be its premium DLC expansions that give players substantial new content to experience, but in between those big drops will be seasonal updates that are smaller, but should still give hardcore fans reasons to boot up the game.
So far, there have been two Diablo 4 seasons. Diablo 4 Season 1 was hugely controversial at first because of some balance changes that were made that upset the community. Diablo 4 Season 2 was better-received, going with a vampire theme and calling itself Season of Blood. Blizzard recently confirmed that Diablo 4 Season 3 will kick off on January 23, though details about what the season will entail have yet to be shared.
The first major Diablo 4 Season 3 details will be revealed on January 18 at 9am PT in a Developer Update video hosted by associate director of community Adam Fletcher, game design manager Daniel Tanguay, quest designer Madeleine James, and lead class designer Adam Jackson. The video will reveal Diablo 4 Season 3's gameplay features, Season Journey, quality-of-life updates, and a new competitive leaderboard system called The Gauntlet. If Diablo 4 Season 3 looks promising enough, it has the potential to not only please existing players, but also bring back lapsed players that may have put the game down after finishing the main story.
