Diablo 4 Content Progression Revamp - Season 2
During the Developer Update Livestream for Season 2, Season of Blood, Blizzard announced an update to the content progression in Diablo 4 to add more variety on your journey to level 100 and introduce target farming Uniques to the game through five newly added endgame bosses.

The flow chart below shows the typical content progression for a player when Diablo 4 first launched. Many players complained that there is a lack of things to do at endgame and Blizzard is tackling this issue starting with the next season, Season of Blood.

With the release of Season 2, the developers added additional layers to the content progression. Five endgame bosses were added that let you target farm Uber Uniques and additional Uniques that can only be dropped by specific bosses. Certain bosses will also drop materials to access and summon other bosses.

To access these new bosses, players have to engage in a variety of activities depending on the boss they want to fight:
- Echo of Varshan can be summoned in a dungeon below the Tree of Whispers after obtaining the required amount of materials from Whisper caches.
- Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint is connected to farming Helltide.
- The Beast in the Ice can be summoned after collecting enough materials from Nightmare Dungeons.
- Lord Zir is connected to World Bosses and Legion Events.
- Duriel, King of Maggots is a new Uber boss and seems to be connected to farming the Echo of Varshan and Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint.
