Files for a canceled Cyberpunk 2077 DLC expansion surfaced online, providing new information on the expansion and new lore that could hint at some of the events that will happen in the second entry in the series.
The files, as reported on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, confirm how the expansion was supposed to take place during a new corporate war, an event that a lot of in-game text suggested was going to happen at some point, and that the moon map would have been around six square kilometers big (for reference, Night City is around 24 square kilometers big.). Multiple bases were also supposed to be included in this new map and a rover vehicle would have helped V explore the new map.
It's disappointing that this Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will never see the light of day, considering how good Phantom Liberty turned out to be. However, at the very least, there's the chance this new corporate war and some of the other events this DLC was supposed to cover will make their way onto the game's sequel, which officially started development earlier this year.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One. You can learn more about the aforementioned Phantom Liberty expansion by checking out Alessio's review.
