Released for PC earlier in the year and still slated to arrive on PS5 in the Autumn season, The Thaumaturge is nearing a console launch as a physical version is revealed to go alongside the standard digital PS Store release. It comes via the Signature Edition website, with a normal boxed copy on offer alongside a special edition. The former costs £29.99 while the latter is priced at £54.99.
If you're looking to splurge a little on the more expensive version, in return you'll get a poster, an original soundtrack via a digital code, a physical guidebook to the game world, playing cards, a set of pins, and postcards. See them all below:
Already more than four months old on PC, The Thaumaturge was met with fairly positive criticism upon its first release, with a Metacritic rating of 74 awarded. RPG Site handed it an 8/10 and said: «Developer Fool’s Theory has crafted a pretty solid turn-based RPG with The Thaumaturge. Its setting in 1905 Warsaw is fairly novel in games and at times, can feel like an intriguing, immersive documentary that educates its players on the harsh conditions during this time in history. The supernatural powers at protagonist Wiktor Szulski’s disposal pave the way to a satisfying battle system that carves out its own identity, despite looking like something out of Shin Megami Tensei or Persona upon first glance.»
