If you want your cooking games to come with a side of family drama, Venba looks like the right choice on the menu. This is the debut title from a new indie developer, Team Visai, and it's just been announced the game is heading to PS5 in addition to other platforms.
We've popped the Nintendo Switch trailer above to give you a taste of what to expect. Venba tells the story of an Indian mother and her family who have immigrated to Canada in the 1980s. Her recipe book is sadly damaged on the way, so you'll need to work out and restore long-held family recipes while the family acclimatises to their new home.
Much of the gameplay looks to involve cooking minigames, but there will also be branching conversations as the narrative moves along. It sounds like a very charming little game, and we're definitely intrigued to learn more. It's currently scheduled for release in the summer.
